My weekend has been pretty boring. On Friday I went to the dentist and then took the rest of the day off. I should have gone to work but after my appointment, I just didn't feel like it. I found out I have to have a root canal on a tooth that already had a root canal done about 10 years ago but wasn't done properly and now it's causing problems.

It's tax free weekend around here so I'm trying to stay away from the stores. Too many people trying to buy back to school cloths. But there are some really great sales out there along with tax free savings. Just can't handle the crowds.

I'm happy The Cowboys won their first game in the new stadium last night.

howdy ya'll! hope everyones weekend is going well. not too much here. we had bunco night friday then i spent saturday mornin' at the ball field to keep score(darned near froze, its rain, cold, then the wind picked up). came home and curled up with a bunch of blankets and the dog for a few hours to warm up. my mom had folks over tonight to play farkle & dominos. i'm going back to the field tomorrow to keep score again, this time all day

Anyone else excited to see that its almost time for FALL TV SEASON?!?!!? It wont be long before a lot of shows start coming back. WHOOT WHOOT! Anyone watch the premiere of Project Runway? Pretty good....Its not one of my favorite shows, but it gives me SOMETHING to watch. Its amazing seeing people create something from nothing.

As for my weekend....it was pretty boring except yesterday I went to Schlitterbahn (one of the biggest water parks in the country) with Bo and one of my friends and her boyfriend/fiance. It was really fun except the lines were SOOOO LONG that most of the day was spent just standing in line. I get bored very easily....so poor Bo had to endure my childish pestering bc thats what happens when Im bored. It was still great to get away from everything though...and to do something different with Bo than just "hanging out" at his house. It was great to GET OUT with him. He has been stressing lately too....he thinks he is going to get laid off from his job bc they have been extremely slow lately, so it was good for him to get away from that stress for a little while.

I had the same thing happen on an old root canal...tiny area at the tip of the root was not taken care of the first time around, so after a few years it decided to act up. The Dr. did an Apiodectomy(?), cut right into the gum and did the procedure...not fun, but it fixed to problem! I swear, I don't know what's worse...a trip to the Gynocologist or the Dentist! Good Luck with the tooth!

Hello, everyone! I'm just dropping in quickly to say I'm still alive. I've just been very, very busy with the beginning of school and all that goes with it. It's always a hectic, stressful time until I get all of the beginning requirements done and we settle down into a daily routine. I had meetings, meetings, and more meetings last Monday and Tuesday and classes began on Wednesday. It always takes awhile to get the 5th graders used to a new school and teachers and to 'train' them that certain behaviors that were okay at the elementary level are not appropriate here at the middle ['big kids'] school. I've had lots of paperwork to do this past week with more to come in the near future.

My Gary show was pretty good and I did enjoy being in the center of the front row. I'm not going to say anything about the opener, Chuck Wicks, other than he is nice to look at. I love the new songs, "Today" and "Get Off on the Pain." I missed not hearing some Petty. I got several stare downs and smiles from Gary throughout the night, and he stood right in front of me numerous times--so did David, Jaimie, and Levi. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take many pictures because my camera battery suddenly died on me. I had just replaced it at the beginning of the summer and hadn't used it much. In my humble opinion, it wasn't the best (or even next to best) Gary concert I've attended. I can't put quite put my finger on it. The guys didn't seem as energetic or maybe it had something to do with still not having all of their 'own' equipment? It could have been that to the immediate left of me were 2 screaming teenagers and to the immediate right were 2 gals who smoked a lot during the show. Gary told the crowd (for those who didn't already know) about the stage collapse and the bus accident. I did get to visit with some Gary pals that I hadn't seen in a year and that was great. He said that the bus they were borrowing came from Aerosmith. Don't get me wrong--I still enjoyed the show and loved seeing Gary and the guys after a year! I'll be seeing them again at the end of September in Kansas City. Justin Moore and Eric Church will be the openers.

I don't have time to reply to previous responses, so I'll just say I hope that everyone is doing well. I've got to go do the dishes and then work on my class newsletter for the week. This weekend, I just took it easy and relaxed.

Hey Junkies! I've just finished reading all the new posts. Or, I scanned them at least. I'm watching my Sunday night HBO stuff. Haven't watched True Blood yet though and that's my favorite!

I think I told the Brooklyn girls Happy Birthday on FB, but, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN! I just watched some internet news about a baby that fell out of a 4th story apartment window in Brooklyn and died. SAD! I don't understand how something like that can even happen but I guess it does. Also, watched some footage of a reporter on Jones Beach talking about the Hurricane that is causing the big waves. I had no idea it was affecting the east coast! Where the heck have I been? So, does that mean it rainy where you all are? I also saw that Chuck Wicks will be at the next songwriters series. Lucky girls, although, after Connie's remarks, or lack thereof, not sure how good he'll be. At least he's cute.

Barb-I just decided I'm going to see Sugarland again on 9/11 in Oklahoma City. Billy Currington is supposed to be opener. I'm really excited about seeing him. I've started following him on Twitter and ever since, I like him more now. LOL! Plus, I really like his new song People are Crazy. Don't think I'll be making the Gary show on 10/24 that we talked about. I will have just been coming back from my U2 tour.

Connie-glad to hear you are going to see Gary at the September show! Interesting about his Sedalia show. With all that he's been going through...stage collapse, stalker and a damaged bus...it's GOT to affect his performance. Plus, he's probably still getting his CD that is supposed to be released this fall ready. That's alot of stuff! But, lucky you, getting staredowns and all. I bought "Today" off iTunes and have been listening to it ALOT. I love it!

Courtney-Yes. I'm coming to OKC as of now...I went ahead and had my friend buy me a ticket. Not sure where I'll crash yet. I still have to go over that weekend with the people I'm going with and if I go to OKC then my friend will be riding back with my sister by themselves and I need to make sure that my sister is OK with that and then I'll have to drive down by myself and such. So, it's not 100% certain but I'd say about 95%. Thanks for the offer to crash on your couch. And, sounds like things turned out good for you and the hubby with the kids. Hawaii huh? Man, that's not too easy to get to is it? But, it would certainly be nice to go there. LOL! So, you're going to school and working in the newborn nursery? That is BUSY!!!!

I went to see Cheap Trick, Poison and Def Leppard last night and I have to say that Poison was by far the best for me. I didn't really know any Cheap Trick songs and surprisingly didn't know that many of Def Leppard's either. I'm ticked off though because I have hearing damage from that show! OF ALL THE CONCERTS I'VE BEEN TO IN MY LIFETIME, this one is the one that hurts...still! The ringing is still there and a friend of mine, who has hearing damage, said the ringing is the nerves dying. GREAT! freakin' GREAT! So, from now on, I m ight be wearing ear plugs at my shows. Well, it's almost time for my favorite show...TRUE BLOOD so I'll sign off for now.

Kalen, thanks for the birthday wishes. Our birthday was great. Pretty low-key with family and friends. As for the hurricane-we didn't get any rain whatsoever. It was too far off but it did shut down every beach. The rip tides were so bad that cops were patrolling all the beaches in New York and Jersey pulling people out if they were dumb enough to go in.

Alicia, I looooove a good water park. Haven't been to one in years though.

Vicki, glad to hear that your relationship woes have settled down.

Hey Connie, I agree with you on Chuck Wicks. He's alright I guess. He's going to be at the next Songwriters Series. I'm really not feeling him at all but we are bringing some non-country fans this time bc of his whole Dancing with the Stars connection.

Laura...when does Supernatural come back? I havent heard anything. Im excited about it too...except its the LAST SEASON EVER!! I have only seen a couple episodes of the Big Bang Theory but its really funny...I like it. I like the tall guy. I almost bought Season 3 of Dexter on DVD yesterday but had to pass on it bc I cant really afford to buy extras like that right now.

Only about a month left till DWTS comes back on. Im not sure who Im going to vote for. Nobody stands out to me like TY did last year. Can we vote to have Ty come back?!?!?! lol

Bren...Schlitterbahn is fun but would be more fun if you didnt have to stand in line for 2hrs at EVERY ride. We were there from the time it opened to the time it closed and only got 4 rides in!! As for LOST....Im ready for it too! It wont be back till February or something though...and its the last season ever!!

Courtney....as for lice...if you only found one bug, its not lice! lol I had lice once when I was younger...and it was horrible! If you look at his head you will be able to see them on the hair. Best of luck with that!

Kalen, I'm not sure if I'm going to the 10/24 show in Dallas either. I think it just depends if there is a presale and what kind of ticket I can get. I really want to see Justin Moore but he will be at the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord in Grapevine before that and I can get in for free before 8 so I may do that. Just going to have to wait and see. As far as Billy Currington, I've seen him a few times on his own and he doesn't move around like Kenny by any means but neither does Gary so I would say he is more like Gary on stage in my opinion. He is back and forth on both sides of the stage alot, or at least the times I saw him he was. I love his Twitters! He takes some really cool pictures and post them on Twitter.

Bren, enjoy your trip to NYC! Never been there but would like to some day.

I haven't scheduled by root canal yet. I have to be on antibiotics for at least a week. It's not hurting me at all but I'm sure it will for awhile afterwards.

Well Gary's tour is officially announced - exciting! I'm gonna get my bf a fan if it's the last thing I do. He really is going to have to get into it sooner or later, sooner being December 31. I'm dragging him to Vegas and he's so not excited about the concert that NYE in Vegas isn't even helping. I sorta booked things without asking him first, but whateva right?! hehe.

Hey Ya'll! Monday is OVER! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! From the sound of it, it looks like everyone has been cleaning, myself included! I mopped floors, cleaned litter boxes and took out the trash tonight and then I made dinner! So, I'm sitting on my arse now trying to find something to watch on TV.

Whoever asked if we were ready for fall TV...YES I AM! I can't stand this time of year when there are only a few days a week where there is something to watch. I mean, what am I supposed to do with myself? lol. Does anyone know when Lost is supposed to start? Is this going to be the final season? There is one new show I'm excited to watch. It's called Vampire Diaries and it's on the CW. Anyone heard of it? It has the guy that was on Lost the first year and died in the plane on it. He playes a "bad" vampire. I'm INTO this whole vampire thing lately.

Bren-I like how my hair turned out. It's kinda like it was when I had it short before. It's basically a bob and it is VERY blonde. I'm jealous of you hanging out with the Brooklyn girls this weekend! But, ya'll have fun! Get some staredowns!

Sue-you mentioned David Nail...he's creepin up on my radar as well! He is darn good looking too! Every now and then I tune into KSIX out of nashville and watch/listen to the morning show guy there. He tapes interviews with musicians and airs them. He had one with David Nail last week and I was only able to listen to it but it made me want to listen to his music. Then I heard his song on GAC the other day and I kinda liked it! It is looking more and more like I won't be going to Vegas; so if you know of anyone that needs tickets, let me know. Alicia-Ok, Gary's bus incident. It happened at his show in Colorado on 8/7. I am getting this info from someone who posted it on the boards the day it happened and from another person who has some very trustful knowledge of it. But, apparently what happened was the bus was parked and the slide outs were out and someone ran into the slide out. I guess it was pretty bad because the band and Gary had to fly back home. Supposedly they had to duct tape the slide out back in to dive the bus back to Nashville. There are conflicting reports as to who, if anyone, was on the bus when it happened. But, between that and losing their equipment in Canada and the crazy stalker woman...Man! They've had their fair share lately. Not to mention getting the CD finished. So, hope that answers your questions about the bus deal. Are you excited at all about DWTS? The only reason I am is because Maks is back. But, there isn't a Celebrity I'm overly excited about yet. I'm leaning towards Melissa Joan Hart; only because I was in the elevator with her while in NYC last June with her children and she was so freakin' nice! And, I'm SO not happy about having to put up with another Osmond...GAG! Did you see the twitpic that Blake Shelton tweeted of Ty at the Dallas airport? It was so cute! I miss Ty. Wish he could come back too.

I'm a Jack Ingram fan. I bought his new CD yesterday for $8.98 @ Wal-Mart (with price matching).

I've had a nervous stomach all evening. Tomorrow I move Bret up to college (not quite a 2 hour drive). My baby bird is leaving the nest. I'm excited for him but also nervous and a little sad at the same time.

I've been so busy with school stuff, I don't have much time to keep up with things.

I am so tired today. I didn't get home from moving Bret up to college until around 9:30 pm last night! A-G names couldn't move in until between 2-4 pm. There was such a line to pull onto campus. It took hours to get everything done. He got his ID, schedule, info, and laptop all taken care of yesterday. I did most of the unpacking for him while he went to a residence hall meeting that lasted 1 1/2 hours. He had his first Freshman Seminar class today plus had to go to several mandatory things like appointment with his advisor, pick up text books, library tour, and several workshops. It'll be like that for the next 2 days, too. They've also got lots of fun stuff they can go to like free food, dances, movies, etc. Classes start on Monday.

I'm gonna take it easy this weekend.

Vicki-I'll be there in Thackerville, right next to Barb and her group. I'm excited and kinda sad since it will be the next to last time I'll see him in concert this year. (that is unless I get a wild hair and buy a TX show ticket)
And, um, you can keep your Osmond. Donnie gets on my VERY LAST NERVE! I mean, give it up already dude. You're time in the spotlight was over about 25 years ago. lol. But, I know you, and thousands of other women, will be very thrilled watching him go. He'll probably make it far. GAG!

Barb-Congrats on the front row tickets and your new truck. I think I tweeted that but not 100% sure. I'm still having twinges about going to one of the TX shows. lol.

Sue-I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE FLIPPING OUT!! I MEAN...L O V E IT! Jeff Lewis makes me laugh. Every show I think to myself; I'd work for Jeff just because he makes me laugh. Actually, I don't think I'd want to work for him, but I'd definetly like to be a friend of his. The other night when they were looking at Ryan's new car and the door slammed into Jenny's head...I rewound it over and over again and was literally laughing in bed. I'd love to meet him. He's my favorite. I watched The Rachel Zoe project too and this time if was MUCH better than last season. It had more humor in it. The little gay assistant is so funny. I need someone like him in my life. I really liked the first episode too because I remember Eva Mendes dress at the Globes with that turquoise necklace...FABULOUS. It was cool to see the "behind the scenes" of what it took to get that out there. I'm sad about Vegas too but I think it's time to give it up. I'm going to list my tickets on here and the FB only board. Hopefully I can sell them.

Connie-how's the house now? quiet? What school is he going to again? I k now it's gotta be difficult for you with him leaving with all you two have been through in the past few years with his health issues. I think you'll grow to like it though. lol. So, did you like Jonathan Singleton? I listened to his song that I downloaded and it wasn't bad.

Alicia-I went to see District 9 today and it was a very intense movie but it was good. Do you have any desire to see it? For some reason I feel like it is something that you would want to see. Then, after the movie, my mom called and was at IHOP with my niece and nephew so we went there to eat with them. I immediately thought about you and Jen and us all going after our concerts late at night. I must say, it was wierd to eat there when the sun was up. Then, my sister started throwing paper at my nephew and I said, No, we don't throw things in the IHOP unless it's after midnight. lol. So, are you thinking about going to any of Gary's TX shows coming up? Just curious.

Good morning everyone! Im sitting here waiting for Bo and Morgan to wake up. Our big plans for the day is to help his dad move a bull from one ranch to another....and I guess I will be babysitting while they do that.

ol Kalen...I miss our IHOP days. As for District 9...I actually had no desire to see it, but Bo wanted to see it bad. I was going to see it for him but now I keep getting told how good it is and how it seems like something I would like. So I might rent it when it comes out on DVD. Also...as for Gary's Texas shows, I have gotten lots of text messages asking if Im going to the shows. I REALLY want to go to all of them....it just sucks bc I really CANT. Right now Im literally scrapping up pennies to cover the second half of my truck insurance. And not to mention my credit card is almost maxed out....and I dont have any money to pay it!! This whole "having my dream truck" thing kinda sucks. lol

If for some reason I come in to some money then you can bet that I will be at at least one of his Texas shows.

I had a GREAT weekend with Bo and Morgan this weekend....the best one yet. She got mad at Bo again when he wouldnt let her sleep by me.

Im watching music videos on TV before having to get ready for work and Toby Keith's "American Ride" just came on and all I can say is WOAH!! He definitely didnt hold any of his feelings back for that video!

Well the Rhinebeck show on Friday was awesome, despite the rain. And when I say rain, I don't mean a dainty mist throughout the show, I'm talking downpour, acts of God rain that started 5 minutes before he came on stage and lasted throughout the night.

Aside from that, he looked relaxed and was very talkative.

We met Dor, her husband, Brenda and her husband there on Friday afternoon.
It was my first time meeting Dor's husband - sooo nice.

My mom came also - she was such a trooper. She's not a country fan but she lasted an hr in the rain before she beat it back to the beer tent.

We had a bbq at my mom's last night and she was going on about how she thought we were all misguided and Jaime was the most handsome - then it got weird and my sister told her to stop talking. hehehe.

Brenda and her husband are staying with me this weekend - in fact I just dropped them off at Grand Central for a day of sightseeing while I work. BTW, they are the greatest, and so is Dor!

Laurie - so sorry I missed your call on Friday night after the show. I went back to the hotel to warm up. I think my clothes are still wet.

Kalen - did you see the latest Flipping Out episode? I still haven't!

Im having some medical issues lately....not too sure whats wrong until Wednesday. The two theories are either Im having a miscarriage or Im hemorraging inside. Im hoping for theory #1.
