OY! bright and early on saturday morning i am taking part 1 of 4 for the Certified Public Accountants exam. The national pass rate is about 47% and less than 10% of those people who do pass, pass it on their first attempt. YIKES! My 4-6 hours a day study sessions have been keeping me away from the board all year and it's not cheap to retake so send all your good vibes my way on saturday morning

Good Luck!!! I worked as a bookkeeper for a CPA firm for 20 years and let me tell you...there were alot of accountants that had a heck of a time passing all the parts of the test! One person, I remember, just gave up completely. What a shame..after all those years of school, etc. But we'll say prayers for you and keep our fingers crossed!! Keep us informed on how it's going for you!!

TAXES! I LOVE TAXES! Jolsen, you have any questions, you know where to find me!!!! I don't envy you. I remember sitting for the exam in 1991, tell you what...NOT FUN! You were required to take all four parts the first time and you had to pass at least two parts to keep them. Now, everything is on computer and you can take one part at a time. Right now, the only part I could pass is TAXES. I'll be praying for ya!!!

Back when I took it (almost 20 years ago) they had Financial, Theory, Business Law, and Auditing. (Tax was thrown in with Financial).

The next one is July 15 and it is audit...tax and business law were combined on the last one i took. i am soooo ready for a break! my last test (if i pass) is aug 26 then im celebrating with THREE gary shows!!!anyone need an accountant?!

i FINALLY passed all four parts of the CPA exam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i spent nine months this year studying HARD. now im looking forward to a nice relaxing 2010 and kicking it off with the man
