Nine times outta ten when I set the oven for "preheat"; I end up forgetting to put it to "bake"!!! Why can't they make an oven that beeps like the microwave when the oven is preheated!!!

Mine does beep once it has preheated to the temp I need. Then I turn to bake and put it in the oven! It's a GE..which means it was probably made in Mexico. Lasmaj, what are ya cookin'? Oh wait, are these the brownies. Do they have chocolate chips in them?

my oven beeps when it is pre-heated....but I usually put things in there before the pre-heat beep goes off...or I will forget to put it in at all

Y'all are lucky ~ I don't have a preheat beep ~ I just preheat the oven,wait 10 minutes & put the goodie in the oven ~ & then put the timer on ~ so the goodie doesn't burn

Mine has a light that is on until its at its preheat temp and then it clicks off.

What I need is an alarm that tells me when my food is done cooking bc I have a tendency to put things in the oven then go sit down and watch TV and totally forget Im cooking until all of a sudden I think to myself "man, its kinda smokey......" and in mid thought I jump up and run to the kitchen!

Mine does have a buzzer when it is done preheating. I do have a buzzer that sounds when the food is over cooked it is called " smoke alarm". LOL

Yeah, me too. I put stuff in right away. I have a GE oven/stove too and the ignitor for the oven just quit...$75.00 for a new part and luckily, my husband did the repair job himself...so at least we saved a bit there.
