okay, so I have a couple names I like: Emma, Allie & Ella. My problem is while I like Allie, I would like that to be a nickname (assuming that is the name my husband picks). I am not real fond of Allison as the full name. Does anyone have a suggestion on what Allie or Ali could be short for? The only name beside Allison I come up with is Alexandra...and I am not sure about that name either. Any comments are appreciated, thanks!

what's interesting are the knicknames that we ALL develop through life, from family and friends along the way that have NOTHING to do with our name.

my older brother always has called me "kid". rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Wow, thanks for the great options!

As someone mentioned before...Alexa. My sisters' name is Alexa, it's different and it's really neat when she finds someone with the same name.

not a problem! lol.. found them online and thought, well if you're looking for suggestion, why not think of names that maybe never would be common.

and i agree.. if you DO have an uncommon name, it's fun to find someone else with that name too!
RIGA
Why can't you just name her Allie or Ali if you like that? I hate my real name, and wish I'd just been given my nickname...it's all I go by now. rolleyes.gif

Boy... what great names everybody came up with. If I were able to have anymore children, I would pray for a little girl. I am thankful to have one child and he is 14 now. I miss when he was little. What a gift he is in my life, although these teenage years are definitely trying, I PROMISE! blink.gif My son's name is Harley and I was planning to name a little girl Haley.
Being you like Ali, Hallee would be sweet or you could just name her Ali and spell it like Alleigh, or Allee.

I tell you though, my boss has a daughter named Allison and her nickname is Al and she is 18 now, so... try not let anyone make that mistake and start calling her Al or it will probably stick. ohmy.gif

Another name I have always liked for a girl is Jessie or Baleigh. I know they are more like a boy's name, but there is a little girl here that has long curly blonde hair with big green eyes and her name is Jessie and she is cute as a button. The name just suits her. My friend has a little girl with black curly hair and blue eyes named Baleigh. they are all precious.

When Harley started school, there actually few girls named Harley too.

Well I wish you,

GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Melissa
