Hello everyone. I just came home for a little sleep tonight before going back first thing in the morning. I haven't been able to get on the computer but I wanted to update everyone and thank you all for the love and prayers. We sure need them right now and I appreciate every single prayer, text message, myspace message, telephone call, card or anything you have done for us. I want to thank WKOF for asking for prayers on our behalf and keeping you all updated for me.

Mom is still in ICU. They really haven't said when they would move her to a room. She has had several setbacks after her surgery.

First of all they had a very hard time doing the surgery because her veins are so small. They did get to do the 4 bypass though. Then it was difficult getting her to wake up. Her blood pressure started dropping and it was getting very low. At one point it was 34 over 33. They have been giving her medicine to raise it for several days and have finally got it up pretty well today. It dropped several more times but they got it back up. Her hands and feet are so swollen they look like they are about to pop. She hasn't been able to get up because the pain medicine that they are giving her has been making her sick when she tries to get up. All pain medicine affects her that way. Even the medicine they give her for nausea makes her feel that way. She just never takes any kind of medicine.

They finally got her up today and she walked just about two doors down and back with help of course. She did sit up in a chair some today too. They are going to try and walk a little in the morning also. They have to get her walking to get the fluid in her hands and feet to go down. Plus she will get blood clots in her legs if they can't get her walking.

They gave her the fourth unit of blood today. We are hoping that makes a difference in how she is feeling because her blood is still low.

She is beginning to look better though. She was very pale and she's starting to get a little color back. It's going to take a while I guess. I just want to get her in a regular room so we can be with her 24 hours instead of sitting over there all of the time and not getting to see her but every 2 hours. That's killing me! Those of you that know me know how much I love my Mom and I just want to take care of her and know that she is going to be alright.

If you will, please continue to pray for her and pray that she won't have any more setbacks after she gets through these things. I appreciate it very much. If any of this sounds wrong, I'm sorry, I am worn out. I haven't had hardly any sleep since Wednesday and I really need to go and try to get a few hours now.

Sincerely, Thanks again. Love and hugs to you all.
Jacie

I really hope you mom has no more setbacks so she can start her recovery. Believe me I know what you're going through. A couple of years ago my brother, who's only two years olders than me, had to have emergency heart surgery for a collapsed valve. He almost didn't make it. Just stay strong and your mom will be up and about in no time. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Love & hugs. Erin

so good to hear from you, babygirl. Stay strong for your mom--but take care of yourself, too. I'm praying that she will recover quickly and feel better than she has been. Thanks for taking the time to update us all. Hope you got some rest, too. Hugs, prayers, and lots of love coming from KY.

Glad to hear your Mom is on the mend.Take good care of your self so you can keep a good eye on the Dr's and nurses.Have they used the compression boots on your Mom?The boots feel really strange but better than a blood clot.

Take care
