I had the privilege of seeing NKTOB at The Garden last night and I have to say the guys still got it! biggrin.gif

Lady GaGa opened the show and If I didn't know any better, I swear it was Christina Aguilera up there. She was entertaining but I really couldn't get a grasp on her music. She kept waving a cane on stage with a lantern on one end of it which kind of made her look like a ghost but I digress.

Natasha Beddingfield was next. The girl can sing. It's one thing to hear someone on the radio and a totally different thing to hear them live and have them sound even better in person.

Then NKOTB came out around 9:15 and performed for a solid two hours. They rose from a plume of smoke and I swear for the first 30 seconds my sister, a friend of ours and myself felt like it was 1990 again. I loved, loved, LOVED them when I was a kid. I had beach towels, bed sheets, buttons, posters, you name it. I'm sure a lot of gals on this board can say the same thing.

They really knew how to engage an audience, all 20,000 of us. They sang all the old stuff and new stuff too. My first concert was a New Kids show when I was 10 so to see them again at the same arena more than 15 years later was a trip. The guys all looked soooooo good. Time has been on their side. There was a lot more glitter and sequins than I remember but it was all good. tongue.gif They closed the show with Hang Tough and Step by Step, you had to seriously peal me off the floor.

I was in love with Joey McIntyre back in the day but I have to say Donnie Wahlberg is looking fine, haha.

I will post pics in the link on my profile later. Who was your favorite New Kid?

lol So glad to hear you had a great time! My sister was a mega New Kids fan (Im more of the Backstreet Boys generation). I would have to say though...even though they were just a couple years before my time, I was thinking about trying to catch a show. I think they look better now than they did back then.

I would agree....Donnie, yummy! lol Did you see a special on TV where it showed him kissing a fan...on the lips?? After that I really wanted to go to a show! lol

At one point Donnie said that he was single and looking for a lady to take home, I asked my friend to hold me back, i may rush the stage! tongue.gif

lol I think he is "happy" that his divorce happened at this time in his life....what better way to get over it than relive your "glory years" and have thousands of single ladies throwing their underwear at you! lol

I loved NKOTB back then too, but they are still looking mighty fine these days too. I saw them on a special on VH1 and they were great. They seem like guys that are down to earth for the most part and hard workers, the routines still really rock.
Thanks for the info, love to hear about them.

Sorry ladies I still like Jonathon the best!!

Which one is Jonathan? Is that the tall skinny one that is brothers with the lead singer Jordan?

I always liked Joey and Donny. I took my daughter to one of their concerts and I swear I could not hear right the next day...it was from all the girls screaming their lungs out!!! But I loved to watch them dance...they made it look so easy.

I got to see them on the Oct. 24th.. The show was freakin' Awesome!! It brought back so many memories.. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the old dances they did.. I would definitely go see them again!
Jonathan was always my fave.. I was really surprised that he made the comeback too.. Didn't think that with all his anxiety/panic attacks that he would ever get back on stage.. I'm glad he did though!!
gormarbur
I went to see them on the day before Halloween and I was laughing when they started doing the old dance moves:) It was like I was 14 again hahaha!

I was a HUGE NKOTB fan back in the day. I went to two concerts when I was a teen. One was in Nashville and the other in Chattanooga. I waited outside in the cold (raining) for 8 hours to get 4th row seats in Chattanooga. This was one of the last Gen. Admission concerts they had at that arena b/c people got hurt. YIKES!

I'd like to see NKOTB again, but feel it would be somewhat enjoyable and somewhat weird...definitely take me back some years. I too had all the souvenirs - pillow cases, sheets, dolls...you name it, I thought I had to have it.

Jonathon was my favorite. He was the oldest and I loved his mysterious, quite, shy side. I heard that sometime back he was on Oprah (early 2000) admitting he fought the fear of going outside or something silly like that.

However, NKOTB doesn't seem to be very fond of the south being from the Boston area. The last time I checked all their concerts are up north our out of the country.

I save my concert traveling money for Keith Urban and now Gary Allan. ...not NKOTB. ;o)

I bet it would be a good show but I am with you Tiff - KU & GA shows are the bomb! Did you see the footage for the KU DVD that is coming out on 11-11. NOT the teaser - this is like 30 minutes of footage - I am IN Stupid Boy!!!! We were all over Atlanta both nights up front - I can't wait to see the whole thing next week! PM me and I will send you the link - it is 4 songs, the bse footage and outtakes! COOL STUFF!!

OMG!! to funny. i was a huge NKOTB fan back in the day.I had everything you can think of that they had out....poster all over the walls in my room and even the dolls they had.I think the stuff is still at my parents house in storage. My sister sent me something telling me that they are touring...and I laughed and said that if I were home in the states...my best friend and I would be seeing them.I was so in love with Joey...and I still think he's as HOT now as he was than. But of course not as HOT as Gary!!
But if they wer to come here to Austraila...I'd go see them...or if I were home...I'd go see them. tongue.gif
