Lady GaGa opened the show and If I didn't know any better, I swear it was Christina Aguilera up there. She was entertaining but I really couldn't get a grasp on her music. She kept waving a cane on stage with a lantern on one end of it which kind of made her look like a ghost but I digress.
Natasha Beddingfield was next. The girl can sing. It's one thing to hear someone on the radio and a totally different thing to hear them live and have them sound even better in person.
Then NKOTB came out around 9:15 and performed for a solid two hours. They rose from a plume of smoke and I swear for the first 30 seconds my sister, a friend of ours and myself felt like it was 1990 again. I loved, loved, LOVED them when I was a kid. I had beach towels, bed sheets, buttons, posters, you name it. I'm sure a lot of gals on this board can say the same thing.
They really knew how to engage an audience, all 20,000 of us. They sang all the old stuff and new stuff too. My first concert was a New Kids show when I was 10 so to see them again at the same arena more than 15 years later was a trip. The guys all looked soooooo good. Time has been on their side. There was a lot more glitter and sequins than I remember but it was all good.
I was in love with Joey McIntyre back in the day but I have to say Donnie Wahlberg is looking fine, haha.
I will post pics in the link on my profile later. Who was your favorite New Kid?
