Yes, they are painful but so very important! I have been doing them annually since several years ago. My sister Jerri lost her sister-in-law to Breast Cancer at the age of 32. Leaving behind a teenage daughter and two younger boys. So...get out there and get thos MAMMO'S LADIES!

.....and if you want to "prepare" for it....you can slam them in the fridge door.....or put them under the lid of the toilet...and have someone slam it down on them....
Of course, you can always slam the trunk of your car down on them too.....toughens them up!

They are important- My sister passed away three years ago this month with Breast Cancer- She had been in remission for several years prior to her death and her initial mammogram gave us more years with her. My sister always phrased it like " Cancer like a Toothache has to be detected and removed"
Miss her alot

So sorry to hear about your sister, Sharon. My thoughts are with you. My sister in law's mother had breast cancer. Thankfully they caught it early enough and she had a mastectomy. She's been fine ever since. I haven't had a mammo yet. Doctor keeps telling me I'm too young.

Thanks for the reminder! I get mine done each year too. I don't like it but if I think about what RIGA said about slamming them in the trunk of my car while having it done, it won't really feel that bad after all!
My doctor told me a cute story about mammograms: Why is getting a mammogram like a tea party? Because that's when they turn your cups into saucers!

I'm really sorry to hear about your sister. My SIL is having both breasts removed after the chemo in Nov. She only has cancer in one breast but the doctor wants to remove them both. I guess this is normal procedures...

IN HONOR OF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH -----
A favor to ask, it only takes a minute.... Thanks.
The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman.
It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' -- for free (pink window in the middle). This does not cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate a mammogram in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Please pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/
