Hi all. To some, this might seem trivial, but I know there are a lot of animal lovers on the board. Just left my 2 1/2 yr. old black lab at the animal hospital. He's a pretty sick little puppy, and nobody knows what exactly is wrong w/ him--but he can't eat and can't keep down any water either and this has been going on since Friday--we had him at the emergency room last night and again today and they kept him today to give him fluids and monitor his condition. If you will, please say a prayer that Rocky has a fast recovery.
Thanks

Keeping Rocky in my prayers Joy. What kind of food does he eat? Some was just recalled again. You know that I lost 2 of my furbabies to the big food recall. Please check it out. I hope and pray he'll be alright. ((Hugs))

I feel your pain. I have an eight-year-old yellow lab named Sunny. It's always so horrible when he's sick.
I hope that Rocky has a speedy recovery!

Update: Just talked to the vet and Rocky is doing much better this morning--was able to keep some food and water down and is regaining some strength. If he keeps improving, we get to bring him home this afternoon!! So excited!!
Thanks for all of your prayers--all of my animals mean so much to our family--don't know what we would do w/o them.

Hey jszoo! I am sooooo glad Rocky is doing better! I understand. Our pets are part of our family! My sister's dog just went through the same thing and she apparently had some kind of virus. You keep us up to date on Rocky, okey!? ((Hugs!))

That's great news. Was the vet able to determine what was wrong?
Give Rocky a big hug. I am so happy that he is feeling better.

That's great news...hoping he's still feeling better. It's terrible when our pooches get sick. A few years back my oldest Boston Terrier, Buster, was throwing up and had to stay overnight at the vet. I didn't sleep a wink! He was sooooo happy to see us the next day....poor thing doesn't have much of a tail, but his butt sure was swaying and wagging when he saw us!!! We love them with all our heart...they really are a huge part of the family!

got the pooch home--he was VERY happy to get home and the other 2 dogs were just as excited to see him. They drove me crazy all day running around looking for him. he seems so much better--but very, very tired still. Not the usual crazy bundle of energy that he usually is. Who knew I would actually miss him bouncing off the walls?! LOL I just caught him w/ his feet up on the counter looking for leftovers from dinner--now I KNOW he's feeling better!
I really appreciate all the prayers and kind words--I can always count on my Junkie sisters to help out.

Joy...I'm glad your little one is doing better! They are such a huge part of the family!
My big baby - a 110 lb Weimeraner (Max) is almost 13 years old!! He has not been doing so good...and last year he was acting similar to Rocky. I took him to the vet - all 3 kids with me - and the vet said he had pancreatitis...which is where his pancreas starts digesting the dog from the inside out! Gross, I know...but they had to keep him for about 3 days and pump him full of antibiotics to kill whatever had irritated his pancreas. I was a wreck! Poor guy couldn't walk because he was so weak from not eating or drinking. And it is pretty hard to carry a 110 lb dog!!! He's better now, but he has arthrytis in his legs really bad...breaks my heart to see him in pain. But he is on some good drugs right now...gets a cube of cheese 2 times a day with his meds...and then a piggy ear!
