i just want to say that i missed you all. i havent been on here since i came back home from visiting my twin sister in Arkansas for 3 weeks. i got back on Sept. 17 and i have been spending time with my husband and children.
well, when i got to the airport with my husband it felt really strange leaving him. we have never been apart. we both said goodbye with tears in our eyes.
the flight wasnt as bad as i imagined them to be. thanks for all your support.
now i have to admit i would rather fly then drive 2 days to get to her house.
anyway, as soon as i reached little rock, i called my sister and she talked me over to where she was waiting for me... it was so cute. she was standing there in her maroon scrubs holding a cute little sign that read .... DRILL SARGENT LAFRENAIS. (while makin' the plans, we decided that i wasnt going to her house to do everything for her, it wouldnt of helped her out, she would still be trying to do things the hard way. that is why she made the sign)
once we got to her house we went over all the plans she had for me.
i went to her theropy appointments with her too. it is really hard for her, you have to think outside the box for most of her daily living needs. just to put gel in her hair we stood many minutes in store isles and just looked around for what she could use. she finally decided that the body messagers works best. she has to dip the ends into her gel, then bring it through her hair. after she does it all she has to take another comb and work it in. (we would just take it in our hands and rub it in.) then she has to use a round brush to pick up her spikes. if they dont stand up she notices she now has too much gel in. so she has to take a towel and rub her hair to dry/remove it. then pick up her bursh agian to lift her spikes. it broke my heart to see her get fustrated because she has no feeling in her prostetics. i did do her gel a few times but she and i agreed that i wasnt going to be with her after my visit was up so she just wanted me to help suggest different ways.
it took about 2 and a half weeks before her house was rearranged and we could just be sisters and hang out. on our birthday we went out to eat at applebees and had a few drinks. that friday we went to the movies and saw house bunny -we laughed so much. it felt like we were teenagers again. it was just her and i, we had a blast.
that morning at the airport when i had to leave she took her hooks and clipped it to the bottom of my shirt and said,"dont go" that really broke my heart.
now we talk every morning and she tells me what new thing she can do and it is still awesome to hear. i am so proud of my baby sister. (haha she is 7 minutes younger!)
oh! when i got to our airport my husband said he had a suprise for me... we got to the spot where he parked and he said suprise! he had repainted my jeep! it is now all black and i have Mrs. Boneyard (my wheelin' nickname) in floresent green on the sides of the hood and Gary's bucking bronco logo on top of my hood in the same green!! my roll bar matches too! i am the happiest girl on earth. i am also married to the greatest husband ever!! i will post pics of my sister and my new paint job as soon as i figure out how.
have a great night everyone.
