Why do people go "out of their way" to get other people in trouble??? I need to ask you all this; because, my logic doesn't work that way...If I'm unhappy with a situation/person at a store enough to complain...I make it a "general" complaint!!! I don't specifically point out someone just to try to get them into trouble!!! It slays me...Your kinda d@mned if you do; and, d@mned if ya don't!!! If your friendly and joke around with people; then, you risk someone taking offense to something you said just making "friendly conversation"!!! If your all business (thank you...come again, etc...); then, you risk being labeled "rude"!!! Why can't people just assume that no one is "OUT" to offend them??? Why can't people be more forgiving??? Why can't Jeremy be playing tomarrow instead of next weekend...I need a drink; and, to scream!!!

lol I feel your pain!

I guess thats just one of the down sides to working with the public....I get it all the time too! Though I have a problem with not being able to keep my mouth shut when people get angry/snotty with me for no reason....so I usually confront them and give them a reason to get angry! I know thats not a good thing when working with the public....but I just cant help it, Ive been vocal about how I feel since I was little! Ive almost been fired a couple times bc of it....probably should have been fired, but I got my boss around my little finger.

Yeah, it's hard. Some People are just mean-spirited, I think. I wouldn't be good at a job where you work with the public...I'd have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when you encounter an #$##@ I can get along with anyone and I can take a joke, too. But after awhile I'd explode. If everyone would only live by the Golden Rule...Treat others only how you'd want to be treated...the world would be a much better place, maybe less stress-filled, too. wink.gif

I really feel your pain. Been there and dealt with that. Working with the public does s@#k. I wish people would just relax, learn to take a joke and laugh a little more. Don't take things so serious.

OMG I know exactly how you feel! People can be such @sses. Sometimes I wish I would never have to interact with another human being again to avoid ugly conflicts. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone could get along (when I think of this, I imagine rainbows and happy bunnies, LOL)?

I guess the best we can do is try to get along and avoid getting too PO'ed when people are idiots. If only there was a miracle solution....

You are right it's a no win deal there. Very hard to please everyone, nice as you can be an still get stung sometimes. I had a bad experience a long time ago, was waitressing downtown Minneapolis at the time. There was a fire in the IDS building so most restaurants were closed that morning but ours. So, it was just me and another waiter working since they were re-routing traffic because of the fire. Well, this jerk is in my section and hardly waited at all but sensed that it would take awhile since we were swamped. He made some stupid comment about well, I should have gone to McDonalds. I said "well, go to McDonalds then" He was so ticked he complained to my manager. I didn't care, come to find out when I got scolded by my boss that he was some political figure. I said to my boss "oopsie" he couldn't help but laugh and said I really should fire you but actually he's a jerk to everyone so I won't. I lucked out there, but honestly rude people. You shouldn't have to take cr%p.

What's worse is it happened again; and, I "swear" I'm not saying ANYTHING that could be taken the wrong way, unless your looking...The irronic thing is, I thought it would be nicer/easier in a really small town; but, it's actually "worse"!!!
