Okay...I picked up a copy of the book Twilight after hearing some friends from high school talking about it on Facebook. I am SO ADDICTED!!! Is anyone else out there reading them? I have finished the first 2 in less than a week (throwing in a trip to Chicago to see my girl, Faith, too!)...and they are aobut 600 pages each!! I am SERIOUSLY wanting to meet a tall dark and handsome VAMPIRE!!!!! blink.gif

i think everyone EXCEPT me is reading it. I've already asked for the series for Christmas so I can start it after graduation (woohoo! no more text books). Hurry and get it read before the movie comes out in November!! I'll need to know if I should wait to watch it til after I read them.

I've read the first 2...is the movie supposed to cover all 4 books or just the first one? I assumed just the first since it is called Twilight.

You should reserve some time after Christmas to read them...you will have a really hard time putting them down once you start!! I read 450 pages last night...finished New Moon at 4 am this morning!!

I want Edward for Christmas (if I can't have Gary biggrin.gif)....hahahaha!! Actually I just want someone to explain to me why a FICTIONAL VAMPIRE has all the redeeming qualities every woman wants in a man??!! unsure.gif

Just finished the last book...they were so addicting! (the last one is the best!) I read the first two books in a day each while on vacation! I need to move on to something else now...any recommendations?

Ahhhh! too much to look forward to! 3 gary concerts, 4 equally tantilizing vampire books...december is looking further and further away smile.gif

I am pretty sure the movie is just the first book.

I have a hundred or so pages to go in the last one. I haven't read it for weeks because I've been so busy with school.

In the first book, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Edward. But now he seems too perfect. I'm I imagining it or did he lose a lot of his personality in the third book?

Now, I prefer Jacob. C'mon...werewolves are sexy too! Especially hot (literally) werewolves with a killer sense of humor. I'll take him even with all his flaws. It's funny though...I hated Jacob with a burning passion in the first two books. I've really warmed up to him since then.

I've heard some ramblings about the 5th book being leaked...isn't it called Midnight Sun? I purposely ignored them, not wanting to ruin my reads!

Haven't read the other series...are they good??

Midnight Sun is Twilight from Edward's point of view. Besides that, I don't think there are going to be anymore books in the series.

Stephanie stated somewhere that because of the leak she is no longer going to publish Midnight Sun? sad.gif

There was an article in the paper this weekend about Twilight...thousands of people from all over the world are going to Forks and LaPush for tours. Have you seen the one-sheet for Twilight? Edward looks pretty good to me, but Bella is not what I pictured. I am looking forward to the movie!

Yeah...he didn't do it for me either! I just keep picturing Gary as Edward.... wink.gif

O.K. I've never read any book on vampires, but I think I'll go buy one now!!! Can't wait to learn more about this EDWARD. I'm reading a NICOLAS SPARKS (Dear John) & it's good. I'll be reading NICHOLAS SPARKS (True Believer) next. I absolutly love the old vampire movies. Infact they just don't make the old vampire movies like they used to. sad.gif So, it sounds like this may be of an interest to me. I'm gonna try reading one. rolleyes.gif

But it's not REALLY about vampires in the traditional sense. It's really about how a vampire falls in love with a human...it sounds kinda silly, but believe me, it's wonderful! I think what I like is how he truly loves Bella. It is a very easy read! I have started so many books and lost interest. I haven't been this into a series since Patricia Cornwell...and Sophie Kinsella!!

I lOVED the Twilight series! I read all 4 books in like a week and a half!!! I was sad to finish the last one though because I wanted more!! When I started them I didn't know if I would like them, but once I was a couple chapters in I couldn't put it down!!!
tracyfireheart
Overall, I enjoyed the Twilight series but I was somewhat displeased with the ending. Ignore what I'm going to say next if you don't want to know ANYTHING about the ending of the series.

I mean, I like happy endings as much as the next person but I was hoping everything wouldn't work out quite as perfectly as it did.

Anyone agree with me?

Read the first one a few months ago, have the second one ready to go smile.gif

Speaking of awesome book series, has anyone read the Outlander series?? OMG, I want a red-headed Scotsman! lol
ShelbyGregg
My daughter has read Twilight. She's bugging me for the other books & can NOT wait for the movie. She is very into books/movies/t.v. shows about anything paranormal/supernatural, magic, witch, vampire....

Then again I am too so she probably gets it from me. LOLOL.

LINDA LAEL MILLAR has a vampire series that is still one of my all-time favorite series. If you haven't read it, do. You can probably find them at an used book store. Here are the titles:

Forever & The Night
For All Eternity
Time Without End
Tonight & Always

YASMINE GALENORN also has a paranormal/supernatural series about 3 sisters that my daughter LOVES. I had a hard time getting into it but she devoured the books.

Witchling
Changeling
Darkling
Dragon Wytch
Night Huntress (01/2009)

I've tried the OUTLANDER series but I couldn't get into it the first time I tried reading it. I'm thinking about trying it again. When I worked at Waldenbooks that series was our biggest seller. We couldn't keep those books in stock.

I got in to and I mean really into this series the day after breaking dawn came out. Someone on another board was asking if anyone read them...so I decided to give twilight a try. I couldn't put it down so the next day I went and bought all the others. I love the way she writes about the emotions and is so dead on with them. When Bella's heart broke mine broke all over again with past relationships..I literally felt her pain.

As far as the movie, at first I was not happy with Robert Pattinson as Edward, BUT now I can not see anyone else. The more I learn about Rob the more and more he is Edward. He literally dove into this character and portrays him as Edward sees himself in Midnight Sun and this is without reading it. Rob just stated that if it were him that was in Edwards situation he would hate himself....so that is how he portrays Edward.

My Edward was closer to Garrett Hedlund!!! Who ironically was asked to play Edward but chose not to....found that out after I read the books.
