ya'll wouldnt believe how windy it was here today!! it started around 10:30am, knocking down trees, power lines, and roofs!! i have pictures will get them up later!!! but we have a HUGE, OLD elephant ear tree {catalpa tree} in the back yard well we were out looking at all the other damage, mom is at home,
this is her room
when we get home our neighbor is pointing at the tree, shouting "it cracked" so we look up and sure enuff a big ole lilmb broke off and landed on another limb, well it was so heavy it cracked the other limb right off the tree and down it went right onto the roof of my bedroom!! well it actually missed it and landed on top of my pool!!!!!!!!!!so we get mom out and down to my sisters house then we drive around a little more!! we go to the cemetry just to look and find this huge pine tree has fallen right on top of dad's headstone! well the stone is fine but the shephards hook, wind chimes, and solar lights are all crushed! so everything is fine now, finally just got the electricity back
so hopefully when they are taking the tree away form the stone it wont be damaged! coz it aint now and we got pictures !!! so i wll get them up in a bit!!

At least you got it during the day. I was up all night last night waiting it out. It started about 8:00 pm but the eye of Ike moved directly over me around 3:00am. The winds were crazy. The power did go out once but came back on a few moments later. Once the eye went over I went to bed. I was suppose to work today but the cable internet was out. I was so tired I went back to bed and slept half the day. I'm still exhausted so I'm going to bed soon. It will be a long day at work tomorrow. This week will be rough. About 60 hours... have to save up for the October Gary show in Arkansas. The things we endure just to see the man.

It works now. My goodness! I know how that is because we had a bad thunderstorm and my Mom had a tree to fall on her house and had to put a new roof on, so I guess you were really lucky nothing was torn up real bad.

I'm glad everyone's safe.
We don't get crazy weather like that out here in Tracy. Well, last year we had a really windy storm that knocked down some trees but that was it.

We got wind and rain yesterday, but not a whole lot of damage, just limbs and sticks. The power didn't go out either.
Stay safe everyone!

I am from Texas-- currently evacuated. Went and checked on home yesterday, not too bad, but we will be without power, sewer and water for a while. At least we didn't lose our house like so many others did.
We all just keep thinking at least we are all alive. Can't wait for Kinder (front row!!) Gives us all something to look forward to,
