Full Version: Apparently my Gary obsession is contagious
My 11 yr old has caught "Gary fever". She collects webkinz (stuffed animals that have their own website and you play games to buy them clothes and stuff). She has a yellow lab webkinz named Gary and she has designed the web room in all things the real Gary likes--it's a beach themed room, with surf boards and guitars and the little pup has quite a collection of sunglasses and surfing shorts. My hubby said "you've twisted that Girls mind!" I think she just has her mom's good taste!
oh my gosh, i'm gonna have to see this!! thats just so cool. She's sooo got her mom's taste!! hehe

i dont know how it happened but i finally (after 7 years) got my man hooked on gary and now he's passing it onto his friends. the other night my guys' band was playing so there were all these "hard" kids out in the street with their tattoos, alcohol, cigarettes, heavy metal band t-shirts and painful look piercings listening to the MAN from one of the trucks. gary allan being played to a bunch of twenty-something punks that only listen to metal music?! i was so proud i got goosebumps

that is SO cool--of course Gary is into all that punk stuff too, so maybe they are kindred spirits in some way. I've heard him say before how close punk is to hard core country--both very raw and real. thanks for the story--I can just picture it!

I wish I had excellent taste like that when I was a little kid of five or so. I was obsessed with Tracy Byrd for some reason. I remember myself singing Watermelon Crawl and Pink Flamingos. I also really liked Garth Brook's The Thunder Rolls. I don't think I understood what the song was about...I just liked the way it sounded. Then again, I absolutely LOVED Scar from The Lion King and I don't think I understood how evil he was.
