My 10 year old broke her arm Saturday at a skating party.

She's in pain and trying to get used to a heavy cast. She lucked up in a way because she has a waterproof cast- she can still swim! She has a big case of the summertime blues since it happened the first day of summer vacation. Thanks everyone for listening!

Man that really stinks for her. First day of freedom and she breaks her arm. Atleast she got a waterproof cast so that she can still swim. I hope the rest of her summer is not so eventfull.

It is so hard to see your children hurt and go through pain. I remember being in third grade and breaking my arm. I would have given anything to have broke it during the summer. I broke my writing arm and my teacher cut me no slack on doing all of my work...it was terrible. Maybe that perspective will help your daughter's point of view. It is definately great that she can still swim!

Bummer! I've never experienced a break so not sure how that feels other than well it has to hurt and the cast would drive me nuts. Prayers to her and you it will be a long summer!
