We are still here and kicking here in Russellville. The tornados first hit in Morrilton about 26 miles south east of us. There have been a lot of Tornados this year in Arkansas and so far we have been very lucky to not be in the path. Thank you so much for thinking of me.

Morrilton got a little bit of damage but the hardest hit area was Damascus. The tornadoes destroyed 400 homes, killed 7 people and knocked out electrical and telephone service for thousands of customers in 18 counties.

Yea! Glad to hear from ya! Sure been a lot of Tornados in your neck of the woods this year! We usually have quite a few scares ourselves right here in Tornado Alley but have been lucky this year to have them miss us. Anyway, you take care and watch those storms gir!

I think the tornadoes decided to haunt Arkansas this year. I have lived here most of my life and can't remember another year that was as bad as this year has been. We have been very fortunate that the tornados have not hit our town. They have hit all around us but not in Russellville. I think it has something to do with the Arkansas river and the way the mountains are situated around the town. We live in a big valley in the middle of the ozark mountains. This makes the storms split and go north and south of Russellville.
I feel bad for those who have been hit by these storms and I continue to pray for them each day. I'm just thankful that it hasn't been my family.

Shroomie, my theory was that big ole nuclear power plant sitting right there. Something about all the steam coming out pushing the storms away. It is that way in ever town we've lived in that has a nuclear plant. My theory.

LMAO thats funny. I always blamed the nuclear plant for the three eyed fish in the lake but never thought of it as a storm prevention method. You may be right though. You can see that steam stack for miles and miles.
