Wow - that is great. I've being thinking really hard about starting. Did you go to the class or do the on-line thing? I can't decide. Any input that you have would be really helpful.
thanks,

I have a center in the complex that I work in so I attend a lunch meeting. Can't do the online thing - not enough accountability on my part - got to go in actually get on the scales.
The meetings help me out the most!

I can only say the meetings are what makes the difference - you will come away with ideas on how to handle situations and the sort. I've only missed 4 meetings in 2 1/2 years - I even attend a meeting when I'm on vacation.
As for the scales - I've got have that accountability each week - it keeps me honest!
Congratulations on starting, as far as I'm concerned Weight Watchers is the best. But please remember one thing - don't expect for you both to lose at the same rate - don't get discouraged - and I'm always here for support and questions.

Hello all!!!
I was going to weight watchers at work and we had a twelve week session which went very well because as you have read, accountability... When I stopped so did everything else. I now have taken it upon myself to keep using the same method and I now go to a dietician where I have lifelong accountability. This is a fantastic program (WW) you just have to make the life change, not a twelve week change!
Good luck to all and any of you can add me as your friend to come to about triumphs and challenges! I am excited to see this on the Gary boards, each of his concert dates are goal dates for me - not for him.. just as my incentive!!! He is very good incentive! Hopefully each time he sees me I will be harder to see!!... WAIT... is that a good thing!!!

Hang in there and know that we are together!!!

HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT. LAST YEAR I LOST 23 LBS. AND 16 1/2 INCHES JUST BY WALKING TO MY GARY CD'S AND WATCHING MY DIET. BUT I PUT IT BACK ON AS SOON AS I STARTED BACK TO WORK AND GOT LAZY AGAIN. HAVE STARTED BACK UP. HOPE I CAN DO IT AGAIN.

Okay, today is my weigh-in day - I'm down a total of 103 pounds - no that is not a typo - I've lost 103 pounds on Weight Watchers.
Got 17 to go to goal - hoping for the end of May but I'm thinking more realistic would be end of June.

i weigh-in on Thurday too i only have about 17 more to lose is it just me or is these last few pounds the hardest ones to lose my goal is to lose them by June in time for the fanclub party it seem like it didn't take me no time to lose twenty pounds but these last 17 just dont want to leave

I just love this thread!!! It is so very encouraging. I have tried a million things and I finally went to a dietician and for me and the way I "work" she suggested that WW sounded best for me too. I did originally belong to ww but it was just the 12 week and then I figured I was ... finished... I am now on the correct mind set that this is forever. I meet with my dietician and figure out what works for me and what supplements I need. I am to weigh in tomorrow. Tomorrow will be four weeks into this... hmmm that means "God Willing" I have about 50-55 years to go!!!!

Keep your chin up and if you slip... you get back up! We are all in this together and we all have situations in life that can cause us to stray. Each day you wake up is a new day. Take it one day at a time ... one moment at a time if you need to! Just think... WHAT WOULD THE GAFC JUNKIES DO???

This is going to be my motto...
What would a GAFC junkie do?... post a pic of Gary on your refrigerator.... or at your desk at work.... or in your workout area... or on your window of your car so when you go through the drive thru you have to think about it...
JUST KIDDING on the last one... but it's a thought!!!!

Good luck all! I still have 89.5 pounds to lose (although my dietician would say I have about 70 to lose... I will see where I feel comfortable!!!) I do have a big milestone coming up soon. I will let you know when I get there!!!... You may actually hear me!

Thanks for the post - all I can say is Good Luck! I know where you're coming from - so far I've managed to "throw away" 103 pounds. At one of the meetings (while on vacation in Colorado I might add) one of the members said she doesn't say lost because you usually want to find things you lost. My big incentive was the Meet and Greets - if I had the chance I did NOT want to meet Gary with an extra 100+ pounds - I got my Meet and Greet in June of last year and you know I was wearing size 10 blue jeans! I think I was almost as excited about the jeans as I was at meeting Gary!
Keep us posted on your progress - and yes, every meeting you attend is a progress!
If there is anything I can do as far as motivation please let me know. I'm thinking of posting my before pics on myspace - just haven't yet had the nerve.

Funny you mention the meet and greet and weight! - That is my thought exactly. I did not get a meet and greet this time but I will now have more time before I would meet him because the next concert I want to go to is in July.. this gives me even more time to look awesome!!! Keep moving forward! You are correct, I didn't lose them because I don't want to find them... although my friend at work said she did in fact find the pounds I lost... they attached to her thighs!!! - she can keep them!!!!
Good luck and congrats!!!

Congratulations to all the "losers!" I'm on WW (for the second time, unfortunately) but I'm doing it strictly online this time. I just found that I didn't get a lot out of the meetings after a while. Plus, I had a not-so-good leader, which I think makes a big difference.
My best advice is to see where you feel comfortable weight-wise before you decide on a final goal. All the height-weight charts say I should weigh no more than 145, but I'm shooting for 160. I don't think I could maintain 145 without starving myself, which I refuse to do! So, I've got 30 lbs to get rid of

Good luck to all!

You are soooooo right - you must find the right leader for you! I've had the same leader for the last 3 years - I will sit thru the meetings when she is on vacation but I don't enjoy them.
As I've said before, my hat is off to anyone that loses via Online - I myself just can't do it - gotta have that accountability of someone else seeing the results on the scale.

As for accountability, I have a group of friends (separate from WW) I check in with online, so they keep me accountable. We're all runners/triathletes, and we're all trying to drop a few. If it weren't for them looking over my shoulder and harrassing me, I'd probably have a much harder time, lol

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
1.5 pounds is no small feat!
When I first started I always had 2 goals in mind. 1 that was within easy reach and 1 that was further down the road - such as lose 5 pounds and lose another 10%. As I would make one goal, I'd set another one and so on and so on. It worked well for me - always had some type of goal - when I stopped doing it, the weight stopped dropping. Now I have taken it up again - I keep the first goal well within reach - less opening myself up for failure. When I shop I try on everything, if there is something I want but doesn't quite fit - I buy it anyway - another goal to get to.
My weigh-in is tomorrow - I've lost the last 4 weeks straight - so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I never care how little the loss is - just as long as it is a loss.
Keep posting - believe me I know where you're coming from. I'm thinking about posting my before pic and a current pic. Haven't decided yet.
