We knew last night there was a possibility of snow today. I woke at 2am to a wet clear ground and thought that the weather man must have been wrong and went back to bed. Three hours later mr. shroomie gets up to get ready for work. He returns to bedroom where I am all comfortable in my warm king size bed and tells me to come look outside. I sit down on the couch not knowing what to expect because after all this is Arkansas.... If you don't like the weather.. just wait a moment... it will change. So he opens the window and there is somewhere between 6 and 10 inches of fresh white powder on the ground and it is still coming down.

We go get the kids up and tell them they have to get ready for school and both are not happy because they thought we were going to get snow. We sit them down in front of the living room window and... they got the surprise of their young lives. They have not ever seen this much snow. I haven't seen this much snow in years. Not since I was a little girl myself. Mr. Shroomie (who grew up in Houston) has NEVER seen this much snow in his 35 years.

Arkansas doesn't get a lot of snow. It is usually just a light covering and maybe one day off work and school. However, when it does really snow it shuts down the entire town. I figure we won't be going anywhere for at least a few days. Its a good thing I went to the grocery store yesterday.

The weather man just said we got a foot of snow and it is still coming down. There is a system stalled over Russellville.

Wow that is great. I bet everyone in Russellville is jumping up and down. It never snowed while I lived there. I can just imagine how pretty it is on the mountain. Enjoy it because it will melt tomorrow.

We haven't gotten a good snow here in a few years. So we are glad it snowed. Glad to have the day off... sitting at home drinking hot chocolate and watching movies. Its a good day.

Yesterday it was in the 70's. Today it is 30 with a foot and a half of snow and tomorrow it will be back in the 60's. Thats Arkansas for ya.

wow thanks for the pics shrooms. the sun is shining in the good ol stat of florida with temps in high 70's to low 80's have fun in the snow and send us more pics.

I have had enough of the snow - we had 28 inches not that long ago....not fun.

We just got back from a walk around the neighborhood and yes I took lots of pictures. I will get them uploaded so you all can see them just as soon as I thaw out.

I wish that was us that just got the snow. All of our snow melted yesterday, and now it has been raining all day long and they are still calling for more. Everything is mud, and the streams are starting to flood.

Can't wait to see them.
