and broke her right hip this am!! she is prolly gonna have surgery tomorrow afternoon sometime, coz she has COPD, congestive heart failure, and needs to see specialist in those fields!! and she takes blood thinners and right now her blood is a little then so they want to thicken it up a bit!! so i want ya'll to please say prayers for her!! and i will let you know how it goes!!! i know whe will do good

I'm so sorry to hear about you mom, Jeanne. I went through that with my dad as well. He broke his hip about three years ago and they ended up doing a total hip replacement. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

well still no surgery for her as of right now!!! still waiting for the heart and lung drs to see her!! so who knows im hoping it will be tomorrow, cuz she needs to get back on her feet ASAP!! im going down to see her in a couple hrs!!! so keep praying for her! ok and thanx a bunch ya'll

mom is on the schedule for surgery later today, but that doesnt mean she will go for sure!! her blood count is too low and her oxygen levels wont stay up high enuff rght now!! so who knows!!! and they think she may have broken a leg bone too not jus tthe hip bone! so heres hoping for a good day today! i asked the nurse what happens if her levels never go up enuff for them and she says i dont know, ...... coz a person with a broken hip cant lay there like that 4ever!!!? will let ya'll know more!!

she had her surgery wednesday around 630pm!! it took about 1 1/2 hrs and she is doing fine last night when she got into ICU we could only see her for about 1/2 hr coz it was after visiting hrs, but since she was just going out of it they lets us stay. she has MRSA so we have to put on gowns masks and gloves for a while!! they didnt have to do a total hip replacement just put pins in it and the dr said something about the bone being really "soft" so he sent off a sample for testing. dont really know what soft means!!! im really hoping that the pins will do ok i think they should have done a total replacement but at least its fixed and she will be getting up and about soon. will be seeing her again later today!! thanx for ya'll for all your prayers!!!

hey just wanted to tell ya'll that mom was moved to a nursing home tonight, just 5 minutes from home now!!!, to get her up and moving again. so.....

change of story!!!

mom is back in the hospital! i went to see her yesterday, the first time since being brought to the n-home, well she was really sluggish and had to think for a minute or two what her answer was then would just not say anything, sleeping all the time! she does know who she is and where she is but, also she hadnt had any pain meds{since 8am} all day according to her charts, but i was there at noon, and a nurse came in and gave her 2 lortabs, that were not in her charts, but they insisted that she hadnt had them, so she laid there all day with no pain meds. well we demanded that she be moved to our hospital, and around 11pm they finally listened to us. come to find out her CO2 is either too high or too low and if we had left her at the nh she would be dead now!! so the er dr intubated her [to remove the co2] for a while and moved her to a bigger better hospital an hour away she uses a bypap at night to help remove the co2 and she hasnt used it lately. but she will be getting better now

I hope she's feeling better today! I'm so glad you were there and demanded they take her back to the hospital. I hope her recovery goes more smoothly now. Keep us posted. Prayers and hugs from KY

hey ya'll she is out of ICU and back to her self!! still in pain but at least she is alive!!! going ot see her again tomorrow {saturday}since we got hit with the snow today {friday}

ok mom is so much better now!!! but it sure was bad road getting her into a good rehab center, which im pretty sure she is now!!! but let me tell you a story!!
on tuesday she was able to be moved to a home, so at 2:50 pm she went in an ambulance to the home and we went there about 2 hrs later, then we were fixing to leave at 6:50pm, when the nurse asked us "are ya'll leaving"? and 'yes', so she said" well we are getting ready to transfer her back to the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ? the home "couldnt" handle her breathing problems which they should have already known about!! mom has copd, chf, emphysema{?}, and MRSA. oh mom ws so upset, well she spent the next couple hrs in the er then they decided to admit her and let her stay an extra day so she got the this new center at around 2:30pm and by 4:30pm, hse already had her first physical therapy!! so now she will be home int he next 3-4 weeks we are so hoping!!!

So sorry that your Mom's been through so much. Hopefully she's at a better place now and will start to heal. Keeping you all in my prayers. Thanks for the update.
