Back on December 10th I wrote you all and told you about my horse dying. Her name was Paige and she was 30 years old and an absolutely wonderful horse that I still miss terribly. Today, unfortunately, her best buddy, my other rider, Kiki died. Kiki was 23 years old. Last night she was fine. She was eating, drinking, walking around, "horse" talking to us and had no signs of feeling bad. At 2 a.m. when I walked past the window, she was standing fine. At 5 a.m. she was gone, laying down with her coat on. I called the Vet and he said because she dropped so fast, she most likely had an aneurysm. She had all her shots, she was wormed, teeth floated, not sick whatsoever. Her blood work was fine. Maybe she was a bit depressed over losing Paige 1-1/2 months ago too. But I'm REALLY sad. I can't take this bad stuff happening anymore. Say a prayer for Kiki and Paige, as they are together now up in Horsey Heaven. Boy does their owner miss them though.

So sorry to hear that your other horse has died. That's terrible. It's so hard to loose a pet and to loose two. I feel your pain. I lost 2 of my dogs when the bad food was around. It still hurts and you get so attached to them. I'm just so sorry. Keeping you in my prayers friend.

We give our hearts to our animals and it's so hard to lose them, especially so close to your other horse. Take care of yourself.

Thanks everyone. I am just devastated. I sort of knew Paige was coming to her time, but Kiki ???? Never would have thought it. I guess that's how an aneurysm is.....you just never know......but why did it have to happen 1-1/2 months after Paige died ??? The little picture to the left is me & Paige (unfortunately my face shadowed by the evening), but Paige looks good. Thanks again !!!

I am so sorry for the loss of your horses and each of the other animals mentioned here. Our animals are a part of the family and it is heartbreaking to lose them. Take comfort in knowing that they had a wonderful life with you and that they have left a little something in your heart.
I lost my sheltie 4 years ago. He was 14 years old. He went in one day - your story of Kiki reminded me of him. He was fine that morning and by that night, he couldn't breathe. I took him to the vet and they tried putting him on medicine, but it didn't work...a few hours later, he was gone. But right before he died, he was very weak...he managed to lift his head up and bark 3 times at me. He then layed down and went. I SWEAR he was saying I love you...
