I just read that heath Ledger (the actor) was found dead in a Manhatten apartment. Anybody else seen this and know anything else?

yes its on cnn!! my sister called me and asked if i heard that!! prolly of durgs they were found everywhere around him according to cnn but who really can say right now just was his time to go

NEW YORK (Associated Press) -- Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence, and police said drugs may have been a factor. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.

Ledger was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins." He's had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot," and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball."

Ledger grew up in Perth, and began doing amateur theater at age 10. At 16, he moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career, quickly landing TV movie roles and guest spots on Australian television.

After several independent films and a starring role in the short-lived Fox TV series "Roar," Ledger moved to Los Angeles and costarred in "10 Things I Hate About You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew."

Offers for other teen flicks came his way, but Ledger turned them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he didn't like.

"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, `You're crazy,' my parents were like, `Come on, you have to eat.'"

His latest role was in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan _ as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

Terrrible news. A little girl has to grow up without her daddy. So sad.

This is really sad, I liked him a lot. My thoughts are with his family and friends, especially that little girl of his. RIP HEATH LEDGER, you will be missed.

i just read at msnbc that it was an apparent suicide. it is so sad, just so sad. some are saying that he never recovreed from the public stress of broke back. that was an intense, yet heartfelt movie. he should not have been ashamed.

NBC, just said that autopsy was inconclusive. Also, that he had been having sleeping issues. Therefore making Ambien his possible accidental overdose. I know that he is still gone, just glad it is not suicide. That does make a difference.

Okay I seriouly HATE the WBC. Its a church group that has had protests outside of our mititary men and women's funeral and now they plan on doing it a Heath's, because he played a gay cowboy in a movie. Hating someone because they are gay is wrong and they say gay people are going to rot in hell, but if anyone does they will. God wouldn't like this, Heath wasn't even gay in real life. These people have serious problems and I hope one day they will find that they're wrong and God will show their twistedminds/souls some mercy. Their website is called god hates fags.com. Yeah, I heard about Heath yesterday, my brother told me. My prayers go out to his family. So sad, he was a great actor.

Did you hear the latest??? Made me extremly upset! On the news this morning they release the timeline of his last few hours. They said at 12:30pm, his housekeep arrived at his home. At 1:00pm, she went into his bedroom to change a lightbulb and heard him snoring. The massuse arrived at 2:45pm and went into his room at 3:00 where she found him unresponsive. So, instead of doing what any responsible person should do, she grabbed his cell phone & called Mary Kate Olson! MK said she would call her bodyguards in New York. WHAT?!?! What is a bodyguard going to do?? Anyway, the massuse then called MK again at 3:26 and said that she thinks Heath is dead. Then and only then does she call 911. The paramedics got there at 3:33 and at 3:36 he was pronounced dead. I wonder if that massuse would have called 911 right away if there could have been a much better outcome. How sad.
